There will be a community wide YARD SALE on Saturday May 19, from 8AM until Noon.

TO PARTICIPATE:

1. Fill out a Yard Sale permit.  To get one, call 594-8204 or email karas45@cox.net.  You MUST have a permit to sell items, and the permit must be displayed in your area.

2. Bring the completed form and check for $5.00 (made out to the City of Newport News) to the Conservancy office at 191 Walt Whitman.  A member of the Events Committee will bring them to the police department for validation, and return the approved applications to residents.

Single family homes and live-above units will conduct the sale in their respective driveways. Residents in the Arbors, Melville, Styron Square Apartments, and Turner building will be allowed to use space on Styron Square.

Sale items may be prepared beginning at 7AM but will NOT be sold before 8AM or after 12 Noon.

Arrangements have been made with a local charity to remove ALL remaining items at 1PM.

We will seal off the alleyways to prevent shoppers from clogging them with their vehicles. Residents will be allowed through, but this might cause some minor inconvenience for some residents. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience and will try to make the sale as unobtrusive as possible. Remember, it is only from 8-1 on a Saturday.
